Changing values: Retreat on the Baltic Sea for inner clarity and new perspectives
At the Strandhotel Zingst, mindfulness meets space, coaching meets nature

A retreat that touches the soul: at the Strandhotel Zingst, mindfulness meets space, coaching meets nature. In February 2026, "Values in Transition" invites you to pause, reflect on your own values and gain clarity for the next stage of your life.
There are places where we slow down. Where the sound of the waves is louder than our thoughts – and we suddenly feel what is really important. The Strandhotel Zingst, located between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden, is one of these places. Owner-managed since 2022, the hotel has long established itself as a place for people who are looking for more than just a classic wellness weekendThis is about depth rather than superficiality. It's about the feeling of relaxation that comes when body, mind and nature are in harmony. It's about growth and empowerment. Because the surroundings alone – the miles of empty beaches, the tranquillity of the place in winter, the view of the hotel garden, the Breakfast until 12 noon – leads to holistic well-being.
A retreat that brings awareness to change
Now the Strandhotel Zingst is going one step further: from 23 to 27 February 2026, the hotel will host its first "Values in Transition" retreat, developed in collaboration with retreat mentor Vesna Szalatzky. It is aimed at people who sense that something is changing – professionally, privately or internally. Our roles and priorities change over the course of our lives. What used to drive us may lose its significance. The retreat offers space to reflect on these changes – in conversation, in silence, in movement and in resonance with nature. "Values in Transition" combines coaching, wellness and nature experiences. It invites you to reflect on your own values, boundaries and possibilities – and to reorder what is important.
Strandhotel Zingst: A place of tranquillity – and clarity
It's the colours, the light, the scents – little things that immediately bring peace. Just a two-minute walk to the Baltic Sea, on the other side is the hotel garden with a pool and terrace nestled among old trees. Kai Harmsen, hotel manager at the Strandhotel Zingst, describes it this way:
"For us, arriving doesn't just mean being physically present. It means arriving at a place of peace within yourself. Our team is also committed to helping people find tranquillity – and we hear this feedback from our guests time and time again."
The hotel underwent extensive redesign in 2024: 122 rooms and suites, a 1,400-square-metre spa area, indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and light-flooded relaxation rooms. Despite its size, the hotel feels quiet and personal – characterised by mindfulness and understatement.
Mindfulness as an attitude
The path to greater holism in relaxation is not a new one for the Strandhotel Zingst. The book was written back in 2023. „Zingst love“ – a lovingly designed travel guide to inspiring places in the region. And also the in-house mindfulness guide accompanied guests in their mental relaxation with small tasks and inspirations for each day. Both projects arose from the idea that relaxation does not only come from outside, but grows from within – when we take the time to consciously perceive.
Winter on the Baltic Sea
Anyone who has ever stood on Zingst beach in winter knows how quiet the Baltic Sea can be at that time of year. The sand is firm, the wind clear, the sky wide. Hardly any people, hardly any noise – just the rhythm of the waves. It is this silence that accompanies the retreat. Walks by the sea, meditation in nature and moments of contemplation create an atmosphere in which thoughts can be put in order. Vesna Szalatzky describes it as follows:
It is difficult to comprehend the impact of this place. However, I consistently observe that something is released from the individuals here. They breathe differently. And suddenly, there is space – for new experiences.
Live consciously, act clearly
The "Values in Transition" retreat represents a new understanding of wellness – one that sees mindfulness, reflection and self-care as part of a healthy life. It is not about perfection, but about awareness. Not about external change, but about inner clarity. The Strandhotel Zingst wants to set the tone for a life that breathes more deeply, enjoys more consciously and is in harmony with one's own nature.
The retreat "Values in Transition" will take place from 23 to 27 February 2026 at the Strandhotel Zingst. Further information is available to interested parties. here.
